Music

More music made when I couldn't sleep. This one's called Persona Grata [ogg|mp3] and it's strongly influenced by another piece of music. I won't tell you what it is - try and guess. There's a chocolate bar for the first person to get it.

Streaming player.

Play it loud.

Eugh! I've just played this track on a different system and there seems to be a horribly off bass note. I can't hear it on my cheap monitors or my not so cheap headphones - can anyone else hear it? Or is it a peculiarity of the hi-fi?

Comments:
My guess: "Echoes" off Meddle, by Pink Floyd? Seems to share the chord progression, anyhow...

Nope, not Pink Floyd. Although maybe we've been steal..., plag..., er, I mean drawing influence from the same sources

James, I can definitely hear the off bass note around the 17 second mark. A lot of distortion there.

Hi!

The bassline begins like this: X . C# G# X . H G#... (X is unknown, I'm not interested in that)

Or at least I think it should go like that. The second G# sounds to be off, is it G? Or just for some reason detuned?

The reason I'm complaining is that this tune happens to be the second free composition, that I qualify to my music collection. So I'd be happy if that glitch could be fixed.

I said this is the second... Actually this is the first, that is musically pleasing enough. I have that other first for its humour. If you know Rammstein's song Du hast, you might find this one quite amusing: http://www.tutka.net/~jsuvanto/N'Joy%20-%20Du%20Har.mp3

It's a finnish guy singing in swedish...

Whoops, I didn't notice you already knew about the bass problem. Hope you can get it fixed.

That tracks's brilliant! I'm keeping that. It's going with my collection of strange and awful music.

The bad note will be fixed, maybe tonight if I get this thesis chapter finished soon enough.

Thanks for listening and for the comments.

Hey, don't disappoint your fans! The note is still not fixed!

So you never fixed it after all. Now it's too late, today I noticed my brain has adapted and the bad note sounds ok. :)

Actually, I did it last night. I'm just going to fiddle a little with it and then upload.

Thanks for listening - sorry I altered your brain!

Great, thank you!
